Sensors

July 2022

The Simple Things sensor family provides low-cost, traditional means of detecting activity in a building with the Contact and PIR Motion Sensor. Additionally, it introduces a new, innovative Radar Sensor capable of detecting motion in an immensely improved way.

Sub-team collaborators: Kevin Hoffman, Andy Rubin, Chris Coley, Cody Proksa, Farzin Dehmoubed, Dan Lee, Larry Davis.

An intelligent sensor that understands your environment.

The Radar sensor tracks, records and predicts activity in your space. An upgrade to the traditional PIR motion sensor that can detect human presence by sensing movement as subtle as breathing.

Radar accurately counts people and objects in a room regardless of their movement, while providing additional details such as their speed, direction, and precise location. This anonymous detection and tracking delivers high fidelity tracking without the need to deliver private images of people.

Radar is designed to adapt to the users needs… You can power this device using a legacy wired connection or a USB-C port, and its adaptable, magnetic mounting system ensures you can position it anywhere in your home.

Contact Sensor

A wireless contact sensor that sends notifications when doors, windows, or other entry points are opened, closed, or tilted.

We engineered a built-in button that can be configured to temporarily disable a sensor without setting off the alarm, or function as a smart button for automated actions. Plus, it has an integrated NFC Reader to perform automated commands such as unlocking a door through wireless NFC technology, simply touch your phone to this sensor for fun UX integrations.

Motion Sensor

Wireless Motion Sensor sends alerts when it detects motion inside a room. It is designed to be a compact and long-lasting battery sensor that fits anywhere in your building, making it an adaptable and affordable addition to your secure, automated system.
