The home widgets app is a place to quickly view and control your favorite devices and automations in the simple things ecosystem.

You can edit the widgets size and organize location with a drag and drop interaction, turn devices on/off and trigger automations by tapping the widget icon, or tap the widget card to be directed to a new screen with further, detail controls.

A Modular Product: “Edge Apps”

Simple Things design system architecture is modular, composed of edge apps with specialized use, contributing to an organized, easy to navigate UI system.

Further, this architecture supports Simple Things open source intention, allowing the user to add Simple Things or third party edge apps: the more you add, the more powerful your system becomes.

Security Alarm App

The alarm app enables you to set your building mode anywhere, with assistive status messaging, ensuring complete awareness of your security system state.

This is also a place for emergency actions and alerts for moments like when an alarm is triggered, or you need to request help/sound a siren.

The alarm app settings customization leads to an intelligent alarm system where you can schedule modes, and link automated devices, contributing to a more intelligent alarm that reacts and functions in the background.

Camera App

Simple Things camera app design is a complete visual overview of all your cameras with quick access to mute controls, settings, recent activity, and full control of individual cameras.

Full camera playback allows many control options to easily review your cameras content, to name a few features:

• Live view with two way talk, automated messaging prompts, and tilt/pan controls (for capable devices).

• View captured footage using the event based timeline scroll (supporting continuous recording).

• AI detection zone customization plus visual and audio detector filters.

• Accessory bottom sheet view to control devices in the camera view.

• Interface for full screen view in vertical or horizontal phone orientation and to easily save and share content.

Devices App

The devices app functions as a place for accessing all device information, presented in a dropdown, list view and organized by room, device type, or edge apps.

This is also the space where users can seamlessly add a new device, streamlining the setup process through the convenience of QR scanning or NFC tap pairing. Subsequently, minimal steps are required to identify the device's purpose within the system.

Activity App

The activity app documents and organizes all detected events by time and date, including filter options and color coded indicators to communicate the urgency level of certain events.

When applicable, tapping an event card will take the user to its designated edge app to communicate all the details of a certain event.

Analytics App

Analytics is the heath app of your building, composed of AI detected data organized by video and audio detector types like people, animals, cars, baby crying, glass breaking, etc.

You can explore specific detector type details and also learn summarized insights of your space generated by the AI intelligence engine.

Store

The app store allows you to download edge-apps and AI intelligence modules that enhance the capabilities of your building.

3rd party developers can build and deploy features that makes Simple Things solution bigger than just one company.
